Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PreOp PACU RN to join our team on a full-time basis.
The PreOp PACU RN plays a critical role in preparing patients for surgery and providing post-anesthesia care, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout their surgical journey.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough preoperative assessments, ensuring patients are prepared for surgery both physically and emotionally.
Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the anesthesiologist.
Monitor patients closely in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), assessing their recovery and vital signs.
Provide comprehensive patient education regarding postoperative care and expectations.
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth transition between preoperative and postoperative phases.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Assist with the development and implementation of nursing care plans.
Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
Required Skills
Current RN license in the state of Virginia.
BLS and ACLS certification required.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a PreOp or PACU setting preferred.
Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Commitment to providing safe and compassionate patient care.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.
