Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Urgent Care

*Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Urgent Care* Mary Washington Healthcare has an excellent opportunity for a full-time and part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its urgent care team.
To be considered, we require: · Master's degree in NP or PA from an accredited college or university.
· Eligibility or possession of a current Virginia license.
· Valid DEA license.
· AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
Working in urgent care, you will: · Provide treatment for minor acute illness, patient examinations, make initial assessments, initiate treatment, and refer to appropriate center of care when applicable.
· Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies and interpreting the test results.
· Perform therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections.
· Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
· Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in provision of continuity of care.
