Summary responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels and efficient processes.
Plan, direct, coordinate, and ensures implementation of all activities concerned with inventory management, order picking, packing, and shipping.
These duties are to be performed within safety, quality, and production standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Plan and manage daily activities of inventory personnel, shipping and receiving.
Plan daily departmental needs based on workload information & schedules.
Controls manpower and overtime needs within schedule and budget constraints.
Develop and implement cycle count plan.
Coordination and completion of physical inventories.
Implement and maintain procedures to assure complete compliance with regulatory requirements for environmental, housekeeping and safety issues throughout the facility.
Maintain inventory integrity by correcting inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
Maintaining accurate records on daily inbound and outbound shipments.
Create, maintain, and distribute reports and KPIs.
Perform root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies.
Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement continuous improvement.
Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodology to continuously improve inventory strategies.
Select, train, motivate and develop employees to effectively support company requirements.
Use effective communication, interpersonal and leadership skills to promote positive group operations and relationships.
Provide support and guidance to subordinate personnel to develop individual job skills.
Acts a liaison to determine obsolete stock while optimizing inventory turnover.
Ensures proper levels of stock via inventory controls Participates in the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process by working across functional areas.
Lead the planning, justification and implementation of new stockrooms and distribution centers Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Education/experience: 5-10 years of supervisor experience with direct inventory management responsibility in a manufacturing environment Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred; will accept other degrees with relevant work experience.
ERP - warehouse management systems (WMS) experience (IQMS or DELMIAWorks preferred) APICs, Lean Expert, and/or Six Sigma Certification Preferred Experience setting new Distribution Centers (Greenfield) or combining DCs (Brownfields) preferred Knowledge: Inventory Control Procedures - Knowledge of Inventory Control philosophies and systems Warehouse Management System (WMS) – Understands data flow and process in a WMS system Supply Chain Process – Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain components including order acceptance, forecasting, demand planning, inventory management, master data, DC operations, supplier planning, order fulfillment, transportation, drop shipments and Returns.
Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Skills: Written and Verbal communication - Communicating effectively as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Abilities: Cycle Count - Set up and execute cycle counting programs.
Data Analysis – Ability to collect, model, and analyze data to extract insights that support decision making.
Leadership - Supervise, control, and manage, instruct, and lead others to complete the assigned tasks.
Microsoft Excel – Ability to import data, create formulas, graphs, pivot tables, and macros as needed.
