Job Summary:
This position is accountable to maintain and repair plumbing, piping and drainage systems assuring efficient and safe operating conditions.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Performs preventive maintenance inspections and tests on tanks, pumps, valves and lines to determine operating condition and need for repair.
Makes adjustments and minor repairs and replacements.
Determines cause of system malfunctions and makes corrective repairs, replacements and installations to restore efficient operating condition.
Reviews and prepares preventive and casualty maintenance reports and complete work order sheets to provide system maintenance history.
Installs new plumbing and piping systems in compliance with building and sanitation codes.
Responds to in-house service calls throughout the hospital.
Monitors, maintains, repairs total building fire control system to ensure safe, effective operation.
Performs other duties and provides assistance as needed.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of four-year apprenticeship program, preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years experience in construction or maintenance, required.
State license preferred.
Journeyman designation preferred; Masters preferred.
Acceptable driving record, a valid driver’s license, and meet criteria for Mary Washington Healthcare’s Driver Suitability, preferred
