Position Summary
RespectAbility's Manager of Individual Giving will work with the organization's Senior Director of Inclusive Philanthropy and Development, Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, the President and Chief Executive Officer, staff, and Board to generate contributions from individuals, support creation of an overall giving strategy and annual giving calendar, build and maintain a planned giving program, develop communications materials for donors, organize and support events and meetings with donor prospects, and maintain relationships with current donors.
This position will report to the Senior Director of Inclusive Philanthropy and involve management of associate-level staff and part-time Fellows.
Core Competencies All employees of RespectAbility will conduct themselves in accordance with its Core Tenets: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Collaboration Commitment to Performance Metrics Key Responsibilities Fundraising Support creation of an annual giving calendar that includes a donor communications schedule and individual giving campaigns Build and maintain performance evaluation and reporting systems related to individual giving activities Refresh existing donor stewardship and cultivation processes, incorporating evolving best practices Research current and prospective donors, including lapsed donors Cultivate assigned prospects and support cultivation efforts for other staff engaged in cultivation activities Steward relationships with assigned donors and upgrade size and/or frequency of gifts; support other staff engaged in stewardship activities Cultivate, empower, and support our Board of Directors in development activities in coordination with the President/CEO and other Development staff - this includes helping recruit and cultivate new Board members with high integrity, commitment, networking, and fundraising and/or gift capacity Plan and manage organization of fundraising events, including presentations and parlor meetings Marketing and Communications Produce donor engagement materials, including special letters, gift acknowledgments, and other communications with donors, in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Department Collaborate with Marketing and Communications on building and maintaining overall donor engagement and retainment strategy, as well as to support organizational list-building efforts Database Management Support accurate and timely data-tracking related to individual, corporate, and other strategic partners, including data entry and evaluation processes in partnership with Operations, Development, Marketing and Communications, and programmatic colleagues Support efforts to identify and transition to appropriate databases, systems, and tools to meet the organization's evolving needs over time Management and Administration Work with the Finance team and other staff to process gifts and pledges, support data entry, and maintain accurate donor records Assist the Senior Director of Inclusive Philanthropy and Development in managing Development staff in development operations, annual fund solicitations, major gift solicitations, database management, reports to donors, lead generation, and relationship management with existing funders and prospective donors Support the training and supervision of Philanthropy Fellows.
Promote a culture that values commitment to inclusion, quality, and learning, including for Fellows.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of three years of full-time experience in nonprofit fundraising and donor relations required.
Strong commitment to the mission and vision of the organization, including fighting stigmas and advancing opportunity for people of all backgrounds and abilities.
Commitment to disability issues as well as a strong interest in equity and issues of intersectionality and other marginalized communities.
Exceptional "people skills" and interpersonal communication abilities that can be used in meetings with current and prospective donors.
Interest and/or potential to grow in managerial responsibilities, including management of associate-level staff.
Ability to work with President/CEO, Board, and staff to identify, research, and connect with potential funding sources - especially high net worth philanthropists and prospects.
Talented, detail-oriented, highly motivated, and honest professional with proven fundraising success.
Experience with data entry and database management required.
Excellent writing and communications skills, including grammar and spelling.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent research skills required.
Ability and willingness to work flexibly in a fast-paced, fast-growing, dynamic, mission-driven nonprofit.
Team player who is upbeat, innovative, and excited to work with our expanding team and help build our individual giving practices.
Language proficiency other than English (especially Spanish proficiency or American Sign Language) a positive.
Experience with Salesforce, eTapestry, or other Blackbaud databases a big plus but not required.
Salary Range: $65,000 to $85,000.
