The Eastman AR605CE is a hand made archtop guitar.
The 16” wide top is solid hand carved spruce, and the back and sides are hand carved mahogany 3”deep .
The mahogany produces a warmer sounding archtop.
There is a custom Kent Armstrong floating pickup by the neck, its is attached to the wooden pick guard, not the body, so it does not interfere with the flow of the sound coming from the top of the guitar.
Unlike other archtops that have pickups routed into the top, which is usually laminate, this is designed to enhance the acoustic response.
Unplugged you could jam with other acoustic guitars.
Plugged in and you get a warm, yet clear sound out of the pickup, volume and tone are mounted on the pick guard.
Over all great shape.
It has little signs of use, and polishes up well.
Plays rather easy for a guitar with 12’s.
I did try phosphor bronze strings to see how it sounded acoustically, and it was great.
A warm and projecting sound.
The pickup is designed for steel strings, and although it picked up the phosphor bronze, it was not as even as it is with the steel strings.
But it puts out volume compared to electric archtops with pressed tops.
Currently has a new set of D’Adario NYXL 12’s on it.
Action is low, you can adjust to your preference, for what’s low to me, may be too low for you.
Neck is straight, frets clean.
If you are looking to step up to a decent jazz axe, this is a good way to go.
It has that natural sound plugged in, not just another humbucker equipped box.
The reflections on the guitar in the photos are there because it still is shiny, and reflects easily.
So none of the flowers or other objects that appear on the finish are there, just the really cool dark reddish stain.

This is about 200 below the lowest on reverb.
