Responsibilities
Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with system and network engineers.
Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.
Building, configuring, and adding additional hardware based on system growth.
This includes racking and stacking hardware.
Determine, analyze, and troubleshoot system issues.
Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts, installing updates and system patches.
Other duties may include maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and interacting with users both verbally and through email.
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
Required Qualifications
BS degree in either Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Management and Information System, Computer Security or System Administration or have 3-7 years of relevant experience.
An active TS clearance and the ability to obtain a CI polygraph.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with Linux Systems
Familiar with platform virtualization software such as VMWare, OpenVZ, KVM, Proxmox, QEMU
Familiar with networking technologies such as: VLANs, VPNs, Routing, Firewalls
Qualifications
BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2
Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000.
This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
