Director Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
• Oversee the day-to-day services of Assisted Living to ensure resident healthcare needs are met.
• Supervising and providing leadership and coaching to direct care staff within the community while
ensuring compliance with state regulations and requirements.
• Provides training and education to care staff on an ongoing basis with classroom in-services and situation
specific training.
• Supervises the maintenance of resident charts and reviews documentation performed by licensed care
staff.
• Oversees medication administration, functional and psycho-social status of residents, initiates
individualized care plans, proactively manages care and services for each resident, evaluates
effectiveness, and maximizes the resident’s opportunity to remain in their environment.
• Direct and maintain records and reports that comply with all applicable laws, including HIPAA, safety
requirements, etc.
• Manages the healthcare of residents, including the delivery of pertinent care information to families and
staff.
• Works closely with the Administrator to coordinate budgetary and operation decisions for the assisted
living that aligns with the mission and vision of the community.
• Provide oversight to ensure resident health and safety needs are met while maintaining compliance with
state regulations.
• Make the final decisions to resolve problems within the department, including employee utilization,
grievances, and disciplinary actions.
• Participates in department quality improvement activities.
•Ensures that all required documentation is completed prior to resident admission including nursing
assessments, care plans and other associated forms.
• Participates in or leads meetings relevant to resident related issues including care plan meetings with
appropriate parties as needed.
• Responsible for keeping Administration fully informed of needs, unusual occurrence, problems and
accomplishments in order to establish and maintain lines of communication and to enhance continuity of
quality resident care.
• Participates in and conducts direct marketing in and around the community for residents, community
services and staff recruitment.

Qualifications and Skills:
· Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
· Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to delegate administrative and care-related tasks as required.
· Technically savvy with strong customer service skills
· Good mental and physical health, sound judgment and high moral standards, and a sincere desire to work with the aged and those with limited capacity for self-care.
· Meets all current requirements of the State of Virginia Department of Social Services standards and regulations for Licensed Assisted Living.
Education & Experience Requirements
· Recent relevant Assisted Living experience (required) & Supervisory experience (Preferred)
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current registration with the Virginia State Board of Nursing.
· Knowledge of RCFE regulations.
· Assisted Living Licensed (preferred) but not mandatory
Minimum 2 years experience and clinical leadership experience.
