Performs difficult skilled clerical and administrative work, prepares legal documents and correspondence, provides general office support in assistance of the attorneys and paralegal in the County Attorney’s Office or Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.
Does related work as required.
Work is performed under the regular supervision of an attorney.
The hiring range for this position is from $19.
25/hour to $25.
99/hour based on experience.
The full range for this position is from $19.
25/hour to $32.
73/hour to provide opportunity for growth and development.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
• Performs routine legal secretarial services; maintains attorney, court, litigation, office, and related calendars and dockets;
• Serves as receptionist greeting visitors in person and on the phone;
• Prepares and maintains legal files and records;
• Prepares legal documents such as court orders, motions, writs, indictments, pleadings, etc.
from descriptions and/or drafts of information to be contained within the document;
• Coordinates witness interviews and litigation related meetings;
• Prepares deeds, leases, resolutions, ordinances and public notices;
• Performs basic legal research, as required;
• Maintains office files, orders and maintains office supplies;
• Transcribe minutes and synthesis large amounts of information into informative summaries;
• Assists with title and public record searches;
• Performs related duties as directed.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and three (3) to five (5) years of administrative or secretarial experience as a legal secretary or assistant.
