Ramirez Martinez Law Offices, PLLC is a solo-practitioner immigration law firm that focuses on removal defense, humanitarian cases and family immigration.
We serve mostly asylum seekers from Central and South America.
We are seeking for a self-motivated legal assistant to join our team and provide office support to the firm.
Duties include, but are not limited to: answering phone calls; screening of prospect clients; scheduling of appointments; management of the firm's calendar; provide case status to clients; communicating with clients to obtain information; coordinate and communicate with clients to secure case documentation; review the client’s documents and information provided; contribute to the development of the firm’s internal process to simplify work, standardize procedures, and help the team operate more effectively; oversee status of cases through the utilization of case management and billing system; make regular updates to the firm’s management system including client information, case tracking information and client communications; translation of documents from Spanish to English; process payments; and make collection calls; among others.
Requirements:
* Must be fluent in English and Spanish (reading, writing and speaking)
* Minimum 1 year experience in an immigration law firm (this is not an entry-level position)
* Must be familiar with MyCase Case Management System, Google Calendar, Dropbox, and Law Pay
* Must be friendly and have interpersonal skills
* Exceptional written and communication skills
* Must have meticulous attention to detail and ability to focus on tasks without easily being distracted
* Must be highly organized and punctual
* Must be highly proficient using computer network and excellent typing skills
* Ability to work independently on high caseload under supervision of attorneys
* Knowledge of basic computer programs (including Mac, Word, Adobe and Excel)
