Is anyone in need of a caregiver for an elderly loved one who is lonely in the Nokesville and surrounding areas??
I can do about 2-3 hours a day (anywhere from 1-5 x/week)?
About me: I’m a married 48 yr old compassionate lady, born in the US, an avid dressage rider, and I live on a private hobby horse farm with my husband in Nokesville with 2 horses.
I love to talk, laugh and share stories and I’m greatly missing this.
This would be strictly TALKING company (no monkey business, lol) for someone who is able to use the bathroom, shower, brush their own teeth, etc by themselves.
But perhaps (like my dad), they can’t drive anymore, their old friends have passed away, their kids/grandkids are busy, etc and they are just lonely.
Well, I am too so I thought I’d see if anyone might be on the other end!
I’m currently able to do home visits for about 2-3 hours per day.
I can do 1-5 days per week.
These hours enable me to get my daily house/barn/riding/farm chores done at my own farm in Nokesville.
I don’t need this as a dependable income so “as needed” hours are fine with me too.
I’m very flexible.
My elderly dad (83 yrs) is currently in a lonely position except he lives in NY.
When I’ve gone home this year to visit he loves it so much bc he’s so lonely all day.
Even though I have 2 sisters it’s still busy for them to get to his house and sit for the company he wants and needs.
I was also in the beverage/food industry for many years so I can keep all types of conversations, lol.
My hope is to help someone’s elderly parent, sister, brother, etc in this same way I helped my dad in NY.
I could see his spirits uplift while I was there, he even had more appetite and his mood much improved.
This helped my soul too! He’s alive and doing much better now!
The money from this job will be used towards the planning of my 2nd horse training trip to Portugal to learn from top dressage riders.
My first trip was in Sept 2023 and it was a dream.
I would like to save to go back for another week in 2024 to learn more.
Things I can chat about, but most definitely not limited to: 😊
-Anything horses (been riding since I was little and I own 2 horses now).
Dressage is my passion!
-I love listening to music and I’m open to all sorts of genres!
-Sports: I’ve snowmobiled, snowboarded, down hill skied, played soccer, water skied, boated, and traveled around the world.
Right now riding horses is my #1.
❤️
-I have no human kids but I love dogs and currently compete with mine
-I love puzzles, cards and board games.
Sorry, no video games.
-I don’t hunt, but not against it or talking about it
-I love going to thrift stores to fix up my horse barn with unique finds that aren’t at commercial stores
-I’ve lived all over the the US (I bartended for 10 years after graduating from college in London).
-I have a college degree (Bachelor of Science in Business)
-I’m certified & current in CPR but am not offering health services.
I’m not a health aide.
☺️
-I can help decorate for upcoming holiday seasons if needed
-I’m very experienced in taking care of animals and I also ran a dog boarding business so I’m willing to help with feeding/cleaning well-trained dogs, cats, etc.
-I can help with Facetime to relatives for the holidays or just in general
-Light housework is okay, however I don’t prefer that to be most of my spent time.
Not because I’m lazy.
I just have more to offer than that.
My dad tells me “the people that come and clean are very boring bc they don’t talk to me”.
-I love to organize so I would love spending time making “donation” piles of unworn clothes as we go through them.
I recently did this with my dad, he was reluctant at first, but realized how decluttered his house became and he also felt good afterwards! 🥰
-I don’t mind making easy meals (if I’m there and it’s time to eat) but I’m not a cook, lol.
Microwave meals are no problem.
I’m clean, respectable, compassionate and can give plenty of character and work references.
You’d be welcome to come to my farm to meet me first, or we can meet in public!
