*EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: *
Master’s or Post-Secondary Degree in Educational Leadership, Administration & Supervision and possess or is eligible for a Virginia license.
Demonstrates extensive knowledge of work-based learning best practices.
Knowledgeable of federal and state laws and regulations related to career and technical
education.
Must possess excellent organization and communication skills.
Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school staff and the public.
*JOB GOAL*
The Assistant Principal for Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Work Based Learning (WBL) will have both 9-12 school and 5-12 division CTE/WBL responsibilities.
This position will manage, implement and direct the CTE programs and comprehensive WBL programs throughout Caroline County Public Schools.
*PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Provides leadership and supervision for CTE division wide to grow programs.
* Assists in defining needs, developing plans, establishing goals, formulating policies and procedures for CTE program development and growth.
* Recruits new businesses and organizations to provide quality work-based and school-based learning opportunities for students; serve as the liaison between CCPS and business and industry.
* Prepares and submits required reports and other documents collecting associated data (including grant applications) for WBL and CTE; enter all WBL opportunities into PowerSchool at the end of each semester.
* Organizes, recruits and runs CTE advisory committees.
* Submits requests to VDOE for new CTE classes 6-12.
* Provides CTE leadership and supports 6-12, PLC’s for all CTE curriculum areas, on both a school and district level.
* Supervises the WBL teacher who coordinates cooperative education, internships, job shadowing, service learning and other WBL programs offered through the CTE program that is related to worksite learning.
* Provides supervision and coaching for students placed in Work-Based Learning settings.
* Communicates with business and industry in regard to their employment and training needs.
* Collaborates with staff and postsecondary institutions to develop and maintain career pathways which prepare students for apprenticeships, community college, or degree programs.
* Communicates and cooperates with principals, counselors, division staff, and other professional staff to develop a positive outcome for students enrolled in CTE programs.
* Develops marketing resources and workshops for CTE Programs
* Organizes and ensures preparation for certification credentialing.
* Provides supervision and feedback to all 6-12 CTE teachers.
* Develops and partners with schools for CTE transition planning 5-12.
* Observes and enforces all applicable federal and state labor laws.
* Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or the Superintendent’s designee.

* Ability to gather data, prepare and present reports accurately and on time.
* Must have excellent skills in decision making, problem analysis, conflict resolution, interpersonal relationships, program management, and research and planning.

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $63,109.
