Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System.

Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.

Germanna Community College is currently in searching for a College Everywhere Academic Advisor to provide access to comprehensive advising services to students enrolled in the College Everywhere program and courses.
The College Everywhere program makes learning happen everywhere with a global online classroom and expert instructors.
Students can complete degrees and certificates 100% online and even finish in one year with accelerated online degrees and classes.
The academic advisor helps students achieve their educational and career goals by working closely with them to identify strengths, understand degree and course options and to act as a resource until the student reaches their goal.
Advisors are passionate about assisting students as they advance through their academic journey from orientation to graduation and must be proactive to ensure that students are progressing toward their goals by communicating regularly, maintaining records of performance, making connections to available supports and assisting with academic interventions when necessary.
General Description of Responsibilities: Meet with prospective College Everywhere students to share program information, discuss program rigor, assess student readiness, and career and educational goals with students Advise students on degree and course options as related to student goals Maintain records of advising sessions and student performance Identify student strengths and weaknesses Demonstrate a strong understanding of institutional policies Connect students with resources, such as counselors or tutors Create an academic plan in Navigate for each College Everywhere student showing how the student can complete their program of study in one year Provide high quality online, group, and face to face academic support services to College Everywhere students, including education regarding goal setting, time management and organizational skills, study skills, self-advocacy skills, and assistance with task analysis Make referrals to other support services including tutoring, Career and Transfer services, Military and Veteran Services, Financial Aid, Care Team, and Counseling Services when appropriate Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core values of Germanna Community College.
