This position's primary function as Staff Engineer for Access Management is to help maintain and simplify our security programs.
To succeed in this position, one must possess both architecture and engineering skills with strong expertise in Identity and Access Management.
A Day in the Life: In this position, you will collaborate closely with our senior and principal team members to produce solutions, advance with new technologies, and explore new challenges.
This will be a dynamic role with a focus on Ping SSO / Directory Architecture, and cross functional collaboration.
The Cybersecurity Team consists of several engineer and analyst roles supporting IAM domains of technologies.
These areas are covered by several key IAM domains, such as Directory services, Identity Governance, Authentication Services, and Privileged Access Management.
Supporting our core identity systems for Genuine Parts Company is the primary function of the team.
Responsibilities Responsible for the Vision and Architecture roadmap for Access Management Domain.
Understand authentication services and integration with broader security solutions such as SSO, MFA, Directory services, PAM etc.
Partner with the cross-functional GPC teams to implement the strategy and roadmap for modernization across the Customer domain and customer enabled platforms.
Plan, design, and develop technical solutions and alternatives to meet business requirements in adherence with GPC standards, processes, and best practices.
Represent the IAM organization on large scale technology projects implemented outside IAM, regulatory reviews, and internal and external audits.
Provide SME experience for day-to-day system development and maintenance activities of the team.
Lead and mentor junior engineers throughout design and development.
Partner with various teams in implementation of processes.
Collaborate and socialize IAM strategy with Senior leadership and executives.
Perform POC’s to assess and identify the technologies per the needs of the organization.
Implement technology platforms, document architecture and related capabilities needed for the unified commerce strategy decided by leadership.
Assess the efficiency of technologies and applications.
Build, set up, and improve systems, procedures and applications.
Collaborate with the wider engineering teams.
Utilize software to perform efficient planning, designing and development.
Project the costs and timeframes of projects, as well as create work schedules and set deadlines for cross-function teams that operate across our identity systems.
Perform quality control and resolve technical design issues throughout the implementation and management stages of systems, processes and planning.
Collect and interpret analytical and performance data, as well as prepare progress reports.
Ensure compliance with industry standards at regular intervals.
Keeping abreast of developments and innovation in the primary areas of specialization Motivate the team of engineers to develop best-in-class solutions.
What you’ll need: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field or equivalent experience.
8 or more years of experience in IAM access management delivery (including 6+ in lead role) Strong fundamental of IAM- identity, authentication and authorization Experience with protocols like LDAP, SAML, OAuth and OpenID Connect Experience in with PingFederate / Ping Directory and managing using LDAP, SCIM and Rest API’s Experience with integrations of PingFederate and Ping Directory Consistent track record of leadership, teamwork, and delivering high impact results Extensive experience building enterprise grade systems/applications supporting business priorities Experience with public cloud offerings is a plus Experience serving as key technical contributor in a team of at least 5+ engineers Experience with Microsoft Services to include Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, Ping Identity Suites, Java Effective collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills And if you have this, even better: Ping Certifications MCP from Microsoft (Enterprise Administrator: Active Directory and/or Security Focus) IGA Solution Experience CISSP Not the right fit?
