We are seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) III to join our Cybersecurity team.
The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in designing and implementing secure information systems that meet federal cybersecurity guidelines.
As an ISSE III, you will be instrumental in the development and analysis of system security measures, ensuring the robust protection of sensitive data.
Responsibilities
Lead security engineering efforts through the design and implementation of security solutions to achieve a balance between operational needs and risk management.
Collaborate with system architects to apply security design principles to develop comprehensive network and security architectures.
Provide technical guidance in security engineering techniques and automated support tools.
Analyze and allocate security requirements to systems architecture components and oversee the implementation.
Develop system security documentation in support of authorization and accreditation (A&A) efforts.
Coordinate with system development teams to ensure cybersecurity is integrated at all stages of the system lifecycle.
Evaluate new security technologies and products and conduct proof of concepts to assess their potential impact on the system's security posture.
Mentor junior security engineers and provide guidance on complex technical issues.
Requirements
Required: Active Secret Clearance
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security engineering, particularly within DoD environments.
Demonstrated expertise in security systems engineering involving hardware and software operating systems and network protocols.
Experience with the application of STIGs, ACAS scanning, and RMF processes.
In-depth understanding of secure coding practices, encryption technologies, and network security.
Proven track record of developing and implementing security solutions for complex IT systems.
Required Certifications: CISSP-ISSEP, CASP+ CE, or equivalent high-level security certifications.
Must have a strong understanding of DoDI 8500 series or NIST 800 series.
