Amentum is seeking software engineering professionals with related education and/or experience to support systems and software development in support of the Navy and Marine Corps at Dahlgren, VA.
You will be part of our growing systems & software engineering team and contribute to our diverse skillsets across multiple contracts in support of our Centers of Excellence.

Software Engineer Responsibilities Include:
Develop software in Linux and Windows environments using Java and C++ Programming languages.
Agile team activities (Daily Standups, Story Refinements, Story Demonstrations, Team Retrospectives, etc)
Participate in Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Deployment (CD)
Individual will support Naval surface combatants
Minimum Qualifications and experience:
Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance (at a minimum, must receive/be approved for an interim Secret security clearance in order to start) Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with evolving requirements.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing to a variety of audiences.
Experience with designing, coding, and debugging Object Oriented Applications in a formal software development environment.
Experience with programming in Java and C++
Experience with Linux or Windows operating systems
Desired Experience:
Experience designing user interfaces.
Experience with JavaFX.
Experience with Gitlab for version control and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with Agile practices/processes.
Skilled in or have experience with two or more of the following: object-oriented programming, software design patterns, real-time or embedded software, automated builds, Linux proficiency or administration, open-source software, unit-testing or test-driven development.
Knowledge of AEGIS Combat System.
