Serves as first level supervisor, technical authority, and advisor for division.
Directs and oversees experiments and investigations for a branch to develop further understanding of unproven concepts or phenomena; to formulate and validate hypothesis; and to develop new analytical techniques.
Provides technical direction to identify, coordinate and prioritize requirements for the development of new and/or improved methods and tools to advance scientific/engineering/discipline specific capabilities, as appropriate.
Conducts testing and evaluation of new capabilities for integration into operations.
Identifies funding requirements to support development activities.
Develops integration plans and executes Technical Point of Contact/financial duties for contract efforts, as required.
Mentors analysts in the application of new capabilities to current projects.

Incumbent must have or be capable of obtaining and retaining a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing program.
The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
Supervisory requirements may be required depending upon the position being filled.

In order to qualify for this position you must meet the basic education and/or specialized experience requirements.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level.
Specialized Experience?is defined as work in the private or public sector performing duties in or related to the work of the position being filled.
Examples of specialized experience include leadership experience, experience developing/executing advancement requirements, experience training/mentoring others, and technical ability and knowledge across a variety of national security/DoD topics and quantitative social science analytic methods.
Ability to formulate objectives and priorities, risk assessment and execute plans.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the DR-II (GS-13 equivalent) position in the federal service.

Experience working with contracts, financial/budget planning and execution.
Experience in presenting information, both orally and in writing, technical methods and approaches and technical and/or resource requirements.
Experience in conducting workforce planning and resource allocation to maximize utilization of scarce resources.
Experience in executing tasking and delivering technical solutions to warfighting customers.
