Totally unique handmade piece - was already old when I bought it 50 years ago.
.
.
a heavy necklace, but worth it for the beauty of wearing it.
Materials: Metal w/ glass beads [no fabric or woven].
Measurements: Approx.
13" 'collar' with loops on each end [for inserting ribbon or cord to fasten around the neck], collar width is 1.
5 - 2" [wider around the 3 inset medallions].
Has 24 ornamented chains dangling from the collar, most of them 5-6" long and ending in patterned punched soft metal discs - but there is nothing of machine-made uniformity about this necklace.
.
.
Interestingly one of the strands ends in a hole-punched [Arabic?] coin), 5 are about 4" long, 2 of them ending in diamond-shaped metal pieces and 1 in a circle (that one has a longer metal loop instead of small chain links on the lower end)
Obviously lots of character and history is included :)
